Single Hauler Trash

The Village of Burton and WasteManagement have teamed up to provide Burton Village residents a cleaner and greener solid waste collection program effective April 1, 2019.  The new service program discontinues the use of personal trash cans and provides a free 96-gallon trash cart and 64-gallon recycling cart to each customer. The cost for this weekly service is $16.50 per month, and will be a line item on your Water/Sewer bill. Plans are to change the Water/Sewer billing from quarterly to monthly, so that residents can be billed monthly for their trash, as well.  Your first monthly bill would be coming out at the end of March and due by April 21st.    Recycling will be done every two weeks.  Our trash collection day for trash and recycling (every other week) will be Friday.  All waste and recycling set out to the curb must be in these containers, unless you are participating in the low-volume bag program.

Low volume bags will be available for purchase at the Village Office during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm).  If you are unable to make it during those times, please contact the office at 1villageofburton@sbcglobal.net for alternate times.  The bags will be on rolls with 5-bags per roll, at a cost of $15.

You will be receiving a brochure in the coming weeks from WasteManagement that explains the program, including recycling.  

If you would like to receive your water/sewer bills by email instead of regular mail, or you would like to sign up for ACH payments for your bill, please fill out the E-Bill/ACH Form here and return it to the office as soon as possible.
